Azerbaijan: State programme leverages civil society in advancing social services

The state sets forth new 2023-2026 plans to expand social service provision jointly with CSOs.

On August 28, 2023, Azerbaijan adopted the state programme for the development of social services for the period 2023-2026. Under the programme the state will continue cooperation with civil society institutions in organising social service provision.

It is noted in the programme that previously* 482 projects were implemented as a result of the awarding state orders to non-governmental and non-commercial organsations in the field of social services. A total of 35 thousand people in difficult living conditions and their families received social services offering psychological, legal, medical and household support. The state together with CSOs also provided counselling assistance, organised social rehabilitation and treatment, and took appropriate measures in the direction of providing reintegration services.
